A Baker Furniture Biedermeier style secretary. This distinctive wood veneer secretary is detailed with a pediment top and frieze with gold tone applique. Flat, black lacquered pilasters decorate either edge, and feature gold tone face capitals. The slanted door is hinged to pull down and act as a writing surface. Inside are three arched cubbies and four shallow drawers. Three full-length lower drawers include brass ring pull hardware and machine-cut dovetail joinery. There is a hidden drawer just below the frieze that does not include any hardware. This unique secretary has a lockable slanted door with key.

The veneer to top right side has been repaired.
