Hans Christian Andersen 1922 Book Set

A two book collection by Hans Christian Andersen. Both of the books have cloth covers with a paper illustration to the front and are published by George W. Jacobs & Company of Philadelphia in 1922. Features include illustrations in color by Elenore Plaisted Abbott and black and white illustrations by Edward Shelton. ‘The Wild Swans and Other Stories’ has nine stories and 117 pages. ‘The Flower Maiden and Other Stories’ has seven stories and 118 pages.

Condition

The books have wear at the spine tips and corners, light tanning throughout, and the cloth gently rubbed and soiled. A few of the illustration pages are detaching/detached but still present. The end papers are lightly foxed, but overall still bright and holding up well. There is a peeled spot on the cover of “The Flower Maiden” and the signature page is cracked.
