A pair of 2 Portfolio Magazine publications by Zebra Press of Cincinnati, OH. Portfolio was a short-lived cutting edge mid century modern magazine for the graphic arts under the leadership of Frank Zachary, George S. Rosenthal and art director Alexey Brodovitch. Summer 1950 Vol. 1 No. 2 was one of the earliest magazines to feature the work of Ray and Charles Eames. This edition includes an embossed cover, several fold-outs, and the highest quality printing available in the early 1950s. The 1951 Annual of the Graphic Arts was the 3rd and final edition of Portfolio and features an illustrated french-wrap cover. The publication features articles on Jackson Pollock, photography by Isamu Noguchi, and a section on stereoscopy, complete with 3-D glasses.
Condition
Light shelf wear; Spine for 1951 Annual has been some damage, and has been taped towards the top. Pages are clean and bright.
