Two Civil War books and prints of the Union and Confederate generals. Why The Confederacy Lost is a book by Gabor S. Boritt and it brings together well-known historians, McPherson, Jones, Gallagher, Mitchell, and Glatthaar. This compilation of historians argues that militarily, the Union won the key battles which in turn won the war. The second book is The Confederate Image by Neely Jr., Boritt, and Holzer. It has prints of the Confederacy and the authors describe these prints and notes their historical value. Two prints are in observance of the Civil War Centennial: images of Union and Confederate Commanders. The Union commanders include Farragut, Lincoln, Sherman, Meade, Grant, Hooker, Sheridan, and Hancock. The Confederate commanders A.P. Hill, Hood, Stuart, Jackson, Lee, Longstreet, J.E. Johnston, and Beauregard.
