Ornate Victorian Marble Baptismal Font

An exquisitely hand-carved Carrara marble baptismal font. A substantial piece, columnar in form, with a sectioned bowl, it is adorned with a gadrooned band at the top and bottom, carved at the shoulder with a gorgeous font, relating ‘I baptize thee in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.’ It is further graced with a carved Neo-Celtic cross in its mid-section. The piece was desanctified by the Church.
