1970s Riverfront/Cincinnati Beer Electric Sign

A 1970s era Schoenling Lager Beer sign that features the Cincinnati, Ohio skyline with Riverfront Stadium at the forefront. Riverfront Stadium was the home to the Cincinnati Reds (1970-2002) and the Cincinnati Bengals (1970-1999). Schoenling Beer was founded in the 1930s and merged in 1986 with Hudepohl Brewing Company. Many historic sporting events occurred at Riverfront: Hank Aaron tied Babe Ruth’s Home Run record, Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb’s Hit Record, the Reds played numerous World Series there, the Bengals played the ‘Freezer Bowl’ at Riverfront, Pete Rose bowling Ray Fosse over at home plate during the 1970 All-Star game and Johnny Bench’s dramatic last career at bat home run all took place at Riverfront/Cinergy Field. At the time of cataloging this sign was operable.
