Antique McCray Ice Box

Item Details

An antique McCray ice box. This beautiful piece of American history features a solid oak frame with a painted white finish, cast metal hardware which includes the original “McCray” company plaque, and four solid caster wheels. The interior is metal, probably zinc. It has five thick, insulated doors; one located on the left and four on the front. The left door is for loading the ice. The four on the front are for accessing the ice and any perishable items cooled inside. Each door is held firmly closed with a metal lever.

NOTE: This is a very heavy and item. Please bring the correct equipment, assistance, and vehicle for moving it. EBTH staff will be unable to assist with the move out. It is currently in a garage for easier access.

Condition

Wear and tear is consistent with age. The white finish is not original and is cracked and missing in places. One of the caster wheels is not connected, but is included. Would benefit from cleaning and restoration.
