Assortment of Vintage and Modern Glass
Item Details
An assortment of vintage and modern glass items includes a rare, red ware black cat cookie jar from the 1950s. It is marked with a capital ‘N’ in a circle on the base. It has a yellow boater-style hat with a red, white and black knob and black stripe at the top. It has a coiled wire handle. The jar portion is a stylized black cat with large blue eyes and pink mouth and ear decoration. There is evidence that there was gold-tone decoration on it previously. It sits on three feet. Also included are a selection of amber glass bottles: a sixteen ounce, screw-cap Clorox bottle. These bottles were made between 1951 and 1954. There is a 1930s one quart Fleecy White amber glass bleach bottle; the lid is missing. Included is a Blue Harvest pattern Indiana Carnival glass candy dish with a grape and leaf design. These were made only in blue, not in green or gold, and this item also doubled as the base for a matching punch bowl set. This dish is missing its lid. A small amber medicinal bottle with a white cap, and an amethyst-colored bottle marked ‘Nectar of the Golden Life of Health and Vitality,’ which is a reproduction Wheaton bottle. An amber Log Cabin syrup bottle depicting a cabin with an American flag, a tiller and barrel. Four atomizer bottles of lavatory mist, Fifty Shades of Brown. A tall black pottery vase and a handled amber jug are included, with a set of three Moon-Pie ceramic coffee cups with an image of the Moon-Pie logo half moon riding in a convertible. Under the logo is the phrase, ‘Get your Kicks on Route 66.’ Two milk glass vases and three tall, tapered, colored glass bud vases, two in orange and one in hot pink. A small clear glass medicinal-type bottle missing its lid and a clear glass storage jar with a selection of cat’s eye and swirl machined glass marbles. The jar is missing its lid. A brightly-colored Asian-inspired cup and saucer set in machined china depicts images of peacocks and a red and yellow border. There is s small chip in the saucer and there is paint loss. A reproduction blue Carnival glass bowl with three feet comes in its original box. A small green porcelain bud vase with gold-tone trim and an image of violets completes the collection.
Condition
All items may need cleaning. The Carnival glass bowl has a large crack in it. Wear is consistent with age and use.
