Hobart Manufacturing Vintage Three Pound Candy Scale
Item Details
A Hobart Manufacturing vintage three pound candy scale. The late 1930s scale is white porcelain enamel and the style is No. 167. The four extensions on the left is where the scale scoop would be placed, and the pound scale on the right will tell you, up to three pounds, how much the item weighs. It was made by Hobart Manufacturing Company through the Dayton Scale Division in Dayton, Ohio. In 1891 Dayton Scale Company was the first company to create a measuring scale. Hobart Manufacturing was founded in 1897 and originally called Hobart Electric. However, in 1913 they revamped and renamed themselves Hobart Manufacturing Co. In 1934, they bought the Dayton Scale Company from IBM and began to manufacture scales. The brightly decorated scoop with green and red cherries on a yellow background is not original. Untested.
