Three Arthur H. Clark Vintage Titles Topics Alvar Nunez, Commodore John Rodgers, and a History of Alaska

A group of three older titles from the Arthur H. Clark Company. Includes ‘Commodore John Rodgers: Captain, Commodore, and Senior Officer of the American Navy, 1773-1838,’ by Charles Oscar Paullin, published Cleveland, 1910, 434pp. Next is ‘Alvar Nunez Caeza de Vaca: The Journey and Route of the First European to cross the Continent of North America 1534-1536,’ by Cleve Hallenbeck, Cleveland, 1940, 326pp. Finally, ‘Alaska: A history of its administration, exploitation, and industrial development during its first half century under the rule of the United States,’ by Jeannette Paddock Nichols, Ph.D, Cleveland, 1924, 431pp. This volume is bound in green cloth while the other two are bound in blue.
Condition
Books are used and have some age, and show wear to boards such as dirt, scuff marks, bumped corners as will as frayed edges and dulled gilt lettering on spine. Two of three volumes have pencil marks to flyleaf. Rodgers has front hinge where flyleaf is tearing away at top. “Alaska” volume has a beautiful bookplate from a prior owner to front pastedown.
