Four Textbooks and Magazines from WWII

Item Details

A collection of four textbooks and magazines from WWII. Items from this collection came from a man who served in the Pacific theater. Of the books used by those who went to sea, there is Navigation and Nautical Astronomy by Commander Benjamin Dutton, 1942, and Knight’s Modern Seamanship, Tenth Edition, Revised 1941, by Austin M. Knight. Many magazines were published in the early 1940s detailing, and sometimes sensationalizing, stories of war. From this genre, there is Flying Cadet from April of 1944. The last publication is a program from a play written during the early 1940s, titled Winged Victory, written by Moss Hart with a forward written by General H.H. ‘Hap’ Arnold, performed in 1944.
