Vintage Biobooks "The Conquest of California" and "The Life and Career of Tiburcio Vasquez"

A pair of books published in 1944 by Biobooks of Oakland, California. The first is entitled ‘The Conquest of California: A Biography of William B. Ide,’ by Simeon Ide, this a reprint of the original 1880 publication, with a foreword by Joseph Sullivan, containing maps and illustrations, 188pp. Bound in a light color cloth showing to spine with red paper boards, limited to 500 copies and printed by the Grabhorn Press. The second book is bound in red cloth to spine, with marbled paper covering boards, entitled ‘The Life and Career of Tiburcio Vasquez, The California Stage Robber’ by Eugene T. Sawyer. Limited to 500 copies and printed at the Grabhorn Press.
Condition
Vintage books with wear to covers and spine including scuff marks, bumped corners, and some fading. Each has pencil marks to flyleaf. “Conquest” has cracked front and back hinge with a San Francisco booksellers label to back pastedown. It also bears an inscription on flyleaf from Joseph Sullivan to Lester Freeman.
