1922 Peace Silver Dollar

A 1922 Peace silver dollar. The coin lacks a mintmark, indicating that it was minted in Philadelphia. The last dollar coin to be minted in silver in the United States, this piece bears Anthony de Francisci’s design of the Goddess of Liberty in profile on one side, and a resting bald eagle with an olive branch beneath its feet and the word ‘Peace’ on the other. The metal composition of peace dollars is 90% silver and 10% copper.
