A set of six gorgeously bound volumes in ‘The 100 Greatest Books of All Time’ series published by The Franklin Library, Franklin Center, Pennsylvania. Each limited edition volume features full leather binding with hubbed spines and gilt lettering and embellishment. Front and back endpapers are moire, with sewn in bookmarks. Prospectus booklets from the publisher are included. Titles and publication dates are as follows: ‘The Republic’ by Plato (1975); ‘Plays’ by Euripides (1976); ‘The Aeneid’ by Virgil (1975); ‘The Iliad’ (1976) and ‘The Odyssey’ (1976) by Homer; and ‘Politics’ (1977) by Aristotle.
Condition
Each volume has a very light pencil notation to upper right corner of a blank free front endpaper. Otherwise, bindings tight as if rarely opened; light shelfwear.
