Antique Mahogany Tea Table

Item Details

An antique mahogany tea table with a raised lip, circa 1820. Both the lip and apron of this piece have a scalloped edge and the tabletop is inlaid with a checked border of darker and lighter wood. The tabletop displays a curly, cathedral grain and a large knot. The table is supported by a turned central support which ends in three cabriole legs with carved acanthus detailing. The tabletop is hinged and lifts up to reveal a shallow storage compartment.

Condition

The tabletop has what appears to be a burn mark over a knot in the wood. There are some minor scuffs and scratches.
