Seascape Oil Painting on Stretched Canvas

An original seascape oil painting on canvas board by Californian marine painter Russell Moreton (1929-94). Executed realistic, detailed strokes and some utilization of pallet knife techniques, this atmospheric work of art depicts a nocturne scene with the luminescent light of the moon reflecting on the crests of rolling waves. Russell’s signature is in blue paint to the lower right corner. The painting is presented in a wide wooden frame with linen trim to the interior edge.

- minor surface damage to the finish of frame.
