A signed Primitive Contemporary style Nantucket screen print by popular island artist, Maggie Meredith (1922-2012). It is titled, ‘Happiness is Nantucket’, and it depicts two seated whales having a lobster lunch. Hilarious! The artist has signed the piece in the lower right quadrant. It is framed in a marine blue lacquered frame. After a notorious career in film making and advertising, the artist, who was taught to paint by her grandfather, Tony Pousette-Dart, settled on the Island and began to show her creations at local Art Galleries. Until her death in 2012, Maggie was the oldest living artist in residence on the Island.

Condition

The signature of the artist has faded over the years.
