A 1938 Steinway piano (serial #292909). A New York Grand Model S in American walnut. Features ivory keys and walnut bench in floral pattern fabric and white striped slipcover.

A representative of Steinway & Sons in Ditmar, New York says, ‘Steinway Serial No. 292909 corresponds in our records to a New York Grand Model S American Walnut, white key coverings made of African ivory (loxodonta africana), Gabon ebony wood sharps, completed and shipped to former dealer Otto Grau’s Incorporated of Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 15, 1938.’
