Rare German Black Forest Carved Wood & Horn Stag Pipe Dated 1896

Item Details

A rare German Black Forest pipe, intricately carved in wood and horn to depict stags and deer in wooded settings. The pipe has a long stem with several sections of horn and the cap at the tobacco well has a horn finial carved in fine detail to show a deer hiding behind the stump of a tree. A faded noted folded in the tobacco well reads ‘In loving remembrance of your dear brother William’ dated October 19, 1896. The pipe appears to have never been used.

Condition

The pipe is in very good antique condition appearing to have never been used.
