"The King Ranch" 1957 Saddle Blanket Binding 2 Volume Set

The two-volume Saddle Blanket binding set ‘The King Ranch’ with slipcase. Written and illustrated by Tom Lea, with research by Holland McCombs and annotation by Francis L. Fugate. Kingsville, Texas, printed for the King Ranch, 1957. Volume I has 467 pages; Volume 2 has 838 pages with deckled edges. Bound in a facsimile of the saddle blankets used on the King Ranch. According to The Book Club of Texas insert included with this set (insert published ca. 1992), this special binding was a private edition with a limited run, and the Book Club was then authorized as a distributor of 250 of these sets to its members. Slipcase is covered in linen with a leather label to spine.
Condition
Some very light toning along edges of first few pages of each volume. There are a few spots of foxing to spine. Small notation in pencil vol. 1 front free endpaper. Some fraying to edges of cloth on slipcase, and a small blemish to leather label.
