Pre-Prohibition Christian Moerlein Salesman's Sample Glass Mug

A colossal pre-prohibition Christian Moerlein salesman’s sample beer mug, labeled at the inside to read ‘Sample From W.T. Murphy & Co. Manufacturers of Decorated Glassware’. The glass mug is lobed at the bottom edge with a substantial handle and the local brewing company’s label at the front reading ‘Christian Moerlein Brewing Company Lager Beer Cincinnati, Ohio’, the ornate ‘M’ within a crown emblem to the right. The Christian Moerlein company began in Cincinnati’s Over-the -Rhine neighborhood by the Bavarian immigrant in 1853 and operated til prohibition forced the breweries to close in 1919. This stein has been in the Moerlein family’s personal collection.

Condition

There are several small chips at the rim.
