Antique Ansco View Camera With An 1874 Dallmeyer 3B Patent Lens

An antique Ansco view camera (date unknown), with a 3B Dallmeyer patent lens from 1874. The brass Dallmeyer 3B patent lens was constructed especially for cabinet portraits. A 1904 Dallmeyer catalog lists the ‘distance between subject and lens for standing figure, 18 ft., for carte de visite 25 ft.’. This stunning lens is a work of art as well, and has a serial number of 23519. The lens is a wonderful piece of brass craftsmanship, with fluid, graceful engraving of the serial number, maker, patent date, and model. The Dallmeyer Photgraphic Lens Book shows this particular lens as first being sold to Anthony on October 16, 1874. Item is untested.
