17th Century Delft Tile Balam and the Donkey
Item Details
A 17th Century Dutch Delft ceramic tile. Blue on white with a clear overglaze, this tile depicts Balam and the Donkey and bears reference to the Biblical Chapter and Verse depicted. Early Dutch landscapes and costumes are highlighted on this tile, which was salvaged evident by some remaining archaic mortar.
Condition
Small chips to edges and crazing consistent with age, some small areas with soiling.
