1967 Replica of Israeli Brass Sculpture by Pinchas Eshet

A spectacular replica of an Eilat, Israel sculpture by artist Pinchas Eshet. Romainian born Eshet (1935-2007) was a well written sculptor who studied in Tel Aviv and Milan and and Educator 1968-90 at the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design, Jerusalem and at Raversborn Art And Design College, Bromley, London, England. This sculpture was a gift to M.R. Feinstein of Philadelphia is the late 1960’s as Philanthropist Mr. Feinstein’s Foundation funded and built the M.R. Feinstein Public Library in Eilat, Israel where the full-size sculpture is located. This piece is made of brass with red enamel highlighting the inner curves of the piece. Mounted on a dark wood stained base and signed by Eshet in block letters to the lower back of the sculpture. This truly unique piece is a great find for collectors of Judaica and sculpture alike. Included are four personal photographs from the Feinstein family dated 1967 that document construction of the library and feature the original sculpture.
Condition
There is some pitting to brass, red enamel has some crazing consistent with age.
