1821 Prussian Potsdam Infantry Musket

Item Details

An 1809 flinklock model Prussian Potsdam infantry musket made in 1821. The U.S. ordered 165,000 Prussian arms which arrived in 1861-62 for use in the Civil War. The gun is comprised of a wood and mixed metal frame and features a metal butt cap, lock, trigger, two barrel bands and ramrod. This is marked to the lock plate with the royal crown, Potsdam and G.S. Marked to butt plate 2GR8C81 and date marked 1821. The gun is untested.

- split to wood barrel. Metal loss. Missing bayonet. Could not be tested.
