Antique Courtry Etching After Munkacsy Painting "Milton" 1878

A beautifully framed antique etching executed by Charles L. Courtry (French, 1846-1897.) The etching is after a large historical genre painting by the Hungarian artist Mihaly Munkacsy, entitled ‘The Blind Milton Dictating Paradise Lost to his Daughters,’ 1878. Text at bottom margin is as follows: ‘Etching by Ch. Courtry after the picture by Mr. Munkacsy in the Lenox Library New York Medal of Honour at the Int. Exh. 1878.’ Housed in a period oak frame with carved floral rosettes to each corner, under glass.
Condition
Frame shows some signs of surface wear consistent with age.
