Offering of Hand-Painted Bejarong Porcelain from Thailand
Item Details
An offering of hand-painted Benjarong porcelain pieces from Thailand. Vintage collection includes a six piece miniature tea set, two cups with saucers, two lidded jars and a lidded cup with coaster. Benjarong refers to the royal porcelain of Thailand. It represents the grace of Thai culture through each precisely placed brushstroke. The word Benjarong means ‘five colors’ with each piece consisting of hand-applied real gold masks laid over the white porcelain. This technique enables the artist to produce a multi-textured detailed Thai pattern around the gold using at least five colors.
