1940 "Our Storybook" Easy Growth in Reading Book

A 1940 copy of Our Storybook, an Easy Growth in Reading book, by Gertrude Hildreth, Teachers College, Columbia University, published by John C. Winston Company, 1940. Illustrated by Corrine Pauli Waterall. This large spiral bound picture and storybook would have been used by a teacher at the front of the classroom to teach children how to read. By building on simple words, the child develops a progression of reading skills. Characters such as Nancy, Bob, Mac and Muff, and vibrant illustrations hold the child’s attention. There are general instructions for the teacher on how to use the book inside the back cover.

Condition

All pages are readable, but there is some wear to the cover corners, rust on the spiral binding, some pages have foxing and/or water damage, see photos.
