19th c. English Wood Keepsake Box Mother of Pearl and Wood Inlay

An early 19th century rare and beautiful wood keepsake box. Made with a mother of pearl center inlay surrounded by a dark wood inlay lid border, this rectangular box is stained a light tone wood. The hinged lid opens to a swirled paper interior, with green satin and ribbons on lid. An interior lever opens to reveal a hidden narrow compartment behind the green fabric. The base is leather lined with a shipping sticker marked Michael Davis Ltd., London, possibly the last reseller.
