85-Piece Sterling Silver Flatware in "Prelude" Pattern

A large sterling silver flatware service for eight, circa 1940s. This lovely eighty-five piece International Sterling silver flatware set is in the Prelude pattern, which is adorned with a trailing floral and botanical design at the handle tip and repeats at the heel on the service end. Each of the eight place settings includes (eight each) table knife, dinner fork, salad fork, soup spoon, teaspoon, long handled teaspoon, demitasse spoon and flat butter spreader. This set also includes serving pieces as follows: small carving set consisting of a knife and two prong fork, pierced tomato or cranberry server, large cold meat serving fork, master butter knife, four tablespoon/serving spoons, small jelly server, sugar spoon, ladle and pie server. Most serving pieces have engraving on the back from the giver, such as ‘Grandmother Haas’. Includes Naken’s wooden silverware chest and receipt from Lange Jeweler for purchase of original set. Total weight of set is 92.625 ozt., not including table knives, carving set or pie server which have stainless blades. Matching silverware in listings #15CIN082-131, 132 and 133.
