1946 Dodge - American Fire Engine

Item Details

A 1946 fire engine, pumper, by the American Fire Apparatus Company of Battle Creek, Michigan, on a Dodge Model WF32 truck chassis, Serial No. 8137706. A plate attached to the frame under the Dodge identification plate reads "4112-228838". The odometer reads 10220. Stenciling to the doors reads "B. A. R. N., F. D. NO. 1, M. O. D. SQUAD". The pumper is equipped with a Federal model 17 rotating beacon with red lens, Federal model 77GB mechanical siren with brake, rubber booster hose and reel with nozzle, hard suction strainer, wood Bangor pole ladder, two sections of 4 1/2" hard suction hose, 8 ft. pike pole, hux bar, 2 1/2" fog nozzle, 2 1/2" straight-stream nozzle, Indian 5 gal. portable backpack extinguisher, wood-handle fire axe, 4 1/2" – 2 1/2" reducer fitting, dry chemical extinguisher by C-O-Two, three kerosene flares in box, M. S. A. CHEMOX Breathing Apparatus in case, two hydrant/spanner wrenches, three spanner wrenches, and assorted spare parts. Electronic siren speakers have been added as well as wooden benches in the hose bed. The pumper was driven to the showroom for consignment and started on the first attempt at the time of cataloging.

Condition

- key broken in ignition switch, upholstery tear to seat back, canvas cover on seat, areas of rust throughout, broken wires under dash, lights not functional (beacon rotates but does not illuminate), radio/electronic siren unit removed (speakers remain), driver’s door panel missing, booster hose nozzle cracked, wear and paint loss to equipment.
