Unique 1800s Carved Renaissance Revival Victorian Hall Chair
Item Details
A stunning antique, circa mid-1800s, Victorian Renaissance Revival ornately carved hall chair. This extremely detailed carved chair includes various hand-carved faces, to include winged figures, full body female figures, and a center back flower face. The lower front has side dragon figures, with a center winged figure, all with acanthus leaves, unmarked. Stunning in a darkened patina, a truly unique piece of furniture. Highly recommend to appreciate the detail involved with this chair.
Condition
, good for age, there is evidence of some repairs, a few chipped pieces of wood missing, a chipped piece to back foot area. The chair back sits loosely into the seat carved opening, making it seem somewhat wobbly, darkened patina – a very interesting and unusual chair – recommend preview.
