A framed watercolor painting by Russian American painter and printmaker Joseph Kaplan (1900-82). This piece depicts red roofed buildings on the waterside. A pair of figures walk toward the viewer on a dirt road. Signed ‘Jos. Kaplan’ in block lettering to the lower left. Matted in cream, and set in a wooden frame. Kaplan studied both in Russia and at the National Academy of Design in New York, and later became a well-known artist in the Provincetown art colony.

Condition

Wood frame scratched and nicked.
