A Contemporary Lusheng

Item Details

A contemporary Chinese musical instrument typically used by the Hmong ethnic groups of Southwestern China. It consists of multiple bamboo pipes, each fitted with a free reed, which are fitted into a long blowing tube made of hardwood. It often has five or six pipes of different pitches, and is thus a polyphonic instrument. This piece is made of a hardwood center and smooth bamboo reeds with brass bands.
