A grouping of four Ute Mountain Tribe Indian pottery mugs signed ‘S.C.’ Beautiful craftsmanship. Each hand thrown mug has a black band to top and different center band designs and colors. Includes a mug with glazes of turquoise, lapis, burgundy and one with a graduated color band. Marked ‘# 72 Ute Mnt. Tribe S.C.’ The Ute reservation is at Towaoc, Colorado in southwestern Colorado, northwestern New Mexico and small areas of Utah. Many of the designs and symbols on Ute pottery resembles those found in ancestral Pueblo petroglyphs, artifacts and dwellings.
