Original Jack Meanwell Nude Figure Drawing Portrait
Item Details
An exquisite figure drawing portrait by Cincinnati’s own, very well-listed artist Jack Meanwell (1919-2005). A large female form composed of red and orange oil pastels on a blue backdrop. Signed in pencil to the lower left corner. This work of art comes to you unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation. An instructor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati for over twenty-five years, Meanwell holds a special place among collected Cincinnati painters and is certainly comparable in many respects to Paul Chidlaw. The pair had their works exhibited together in 2010 at the Mary Ran Gallery, in an exhibit called “Paul Chidlaw and Jack Meanwell – Battle of the Abstract Expressionists.”
