Jack Meanwell Original Watercolor and Gouache Landscape
Item Details
An original watercolor and gouache landscape painting on heavy weight Whatman rag paper by Cincinnati’s own, very well-listed artist Jack Meanwell (1919 – 2005). A lovely depiction of three ducks flying above a body of water as cattails bend in the wind. This work of art is signed by Meanwell to the lower right-hand side in gray paint. Presented to you unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation.
An instructor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati for over 25 years, Meanwell holds a special place among collected Cincinnati painters and is certainly comparable in many respects to Paul Chidlaw. The pair had their works exhibited together in 2010 at the Mary Ran Gallery, in an exhibit called “Paul Chidlaw and Jack Meanwell – Battle of the Abstract Expressionists.”
