A Civil War era Union envelope sent with an 1861 red Washington 3 cent stamp, hand addressed to Patrick Kerans, Camp Chase, Care Capt Pike, Columbus, Ohio. The letter with the envelope (hand written on lined paper with American flag printed at left) reads Miss Sallie Jenkins, The pleasure of your company is respectivly Solicited to attend the Young Folks Jubilee at Jones’s hall Feb. 6th. The stamp is cancelled with an unusual tredmark type mark, the envelop was opened from the left end.

Condition

The envelope and contained letter are both in good condition as is the stamp.
