A group of five pieces of assorted petrified wood samples.
Petrified wood is the terminology given to the fossilized remains of trees and other terrestrial plant life. It is the result of trees or plants having been transformed into stone by a geologic process known as per-mineralization. This collection contains six different specimens of petrified wood in an array of color and shapes, many still resembling their organic counterparts visible through their polished face.
