Bronze Sculpture of Diana by Suzanne Bizard

Item Details

A handsome bronze sculpture of the goddess Diana, called Artemis by the Greeks, by French artist Suzanne Bizard (1873-1963). It depicts the goddess of the hunt, her bow and arrow on the ground at her feet, holding her hunting dog’s collar and she strokes the face of a crying deer. The base is signed by the artist and also labelled "Diane Attendrie", meaning "Tender Diana".

Condition

- the figures have a gold-tone wash which is partially worn away.
