Rococco Revival Style Carved High Back Armchair

Item Details

An antique, heavily carved, high back armchair in the Rococco Revival style. This dramatic, high back armchair is made of cherry or rosewood, and carved with a floral design on the crest rail, with additional carvings on the arms, frame, and legs. The cartoche-shaped tufted back, seat and arm pads are upholstered in a burgundy fabric, edged in a bronze nailhead trim. This armchair has casters on all four legs.

Condition

The wood and upholstery is sun faded on back of chair. Wood is separating at arm connection and other connections, and appears to require gluing. Mark on seat fabric.
