Original Roland Huston Abstract Acrylic Painting on Canvas

An original abstract acrylic painting on canvas by well-regarded Cincinnati painter Roland Huston. A red color field is interjected by jutting strokes of blue and green paint, while long thin brush marks create rich texture throughout the composition. Huston was revered as both an academician and painter. He was a teacher from 1987 until 2005 and also famously studied under Paul Chidlaw at the Cincinnati Art Academy. The artists relationship with his teacher continued far beyond their years at the Art Academy. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 69 and is remembered by many as a solid teacher, artist and friend. The work is unsigned, but comes directly from the Huston estate.
