Late 1800s Meridian Britania Silver Plate Coffee Pot
Item Details
A stunning and substantial silver plate coffee pot from the late 1800s, produced by Meridian Britannia Company. The pot features an etched and embossed design to its tankard style body with unique corn husk figural spout support, a finial flower to its lid and a rocky cliff support to the heavy handle. Of interest is a small embossed figure of a seal to one side and a seaside scene to the triangular divot on the handle. This coffee pot also has a monogrammed ‘C’ just below the spout. Marked to the base with Meridian B Company with a stylized M in a shield.
Condition
- to fair with plating substantially worn from the piece. A rough tarnish mark to the top of lid with two small holes to the base. This piece would benefit from a thorough cleaning.
