"Two Birds on Yellow Blossom Branches" Imao Keinen Woodcut

A vintage woodblock print titled ‘Two Birds on Yellow Blossom Branches’ by Japanese kacho-ga printmaker Imao Keinen (1845 – 1924). Printed circa 1930, this piece is exemplary of Keinen’s lifelike renderings of birds and flowers featuring two small birds perched on the branches of a weeping cherry tree. The print has been mounted to a piece of tan mat board with gold embellishments painted to the edge. Text has been written below the image on the mat and reads, ‘Weeping Cherry Blossoms, Keinen.’ This print is presented on white mat, protected under glass, in a red and gold painted wood frame with a wire on the reverse side for hanging.
