Original Ashbrook Stone Lithograph

An original hand-drawn stone lithograph by Cincinnati’s own Paul Ashbrook (1867 – 1949), depicting a seasoned fishermen who smokes a pipe while reeling in his fishing net. This piece is signed in pencil to the lower left-hand side and also signed in print to the lower right. This print is protected by a sheet of interleaf in a paper portfolio. Listed artist Paul Ashbrook was a leading figure of the Cincinnati fine art community in the early 1920’s. He studied under Frank Duveneck in 1900 and later went on to teach illustration from 1914-1919.
