A Thomas Jefferson reproduction Windsor writing desk armchair. The walnut wood chair has a curved yoke and arms, a molded seat, turned legs and stretchers. This type Windsor chair was developed first in the 18th century as a writing desk chair with a paddle desk surface and a small drawer on either the right or left side of the chair. This chair is for a right handed writer. It is said that Thomas Jefferson wrote parts of the Declaration of Independence in a Windsor writing armchair.
