A color lithograph after artwork by Junius Brutus Stearns (1810-1885) titled Life of George Washington, subtitled The Soldier. The copyright date of the print is 1854. This lithograph is by Regnier, published in Paris by Lemereier. The engraving depicts young George Washington on a horse with soldiers in the battle of the Monongahela. This is one of a set of four made by this publisher that illustrates Washington’s life. The print has a gilt wood frame with a wire on the back for hanging.
