"The Letter Writer" Lithograph After Gabriel Metsu

A lithograph of ‘The Letter Writer’ after a work by Gabriel Metsu (Dutch 1629-1667) titled ‘A Man Writing A Letter’. Metsu was a painter of 17th century Dutch genre scenes, and has been compared to his contemporary, Johannes Vermeer. In this work we see a 17th century man sitting at a table, writing a letter, his home decorated in a style typical for the middle to upper classes of 17th century Holland.
