TRUART Sterling and Other Vintage Brooches
Item Details
A diversely unique collection of vintage brooches, one from the TRUART line of Hingeco Vanities, Inc., a company that once operated out of Providence, Rhode Island. TRUART became the trademark of the company, which also produced compacts and vanity items and operated from the late 1930s until the earlier 1950s. Interestingly, this company was also known for its production of patriotic WWII Military Sweetheart Jewelry. This vintage signed piece is a sterling heart with flowers, which at one time had a chain with a key attached. The company also made jewelry pieces from wooden, plastic, celluloid and non-precious metals in an effort to support war conservation. Also included here are three additional vintage brooches: a pair of love birds, a bar with gold fill ivy across it, and a tiny circle with a basket of blue flowers at its center.
