Antique Mahogany Sheet Music Cabinet

Item Details

An antique mahogany cabinet for holding sheet music, decorated with gorgeous marquetry. The piece was probably made in Cincinnati by Robert Mitchell of G. Henshaw & Sons Co., circa 1910. The cabinet is Louis XV/Rococo in style with a vertical serpentine front. The marquetry has Rococo floral and musical motifs. A small drawer sits atop a cabinet with four adjustable shelves. Hinges and knobs are brass.

Condition

Scratches on top. Escutcheon around keyhole missing. Key is a little sticky in lock, but works. Nicks and scratches elsewhere, consistent with age.
